Thomas Telford UTC Students ShineThu, 08 Sep 2022Students at Thomas Telford UTC received their GCSE results today. Due to the pandemic, this is the first time that students have sat exams since 2019 and The UTC have reason to celebrate. The Principal of the UTC, Av Gill, said the following: "Congratulations to our Year 11 cohort who received their GCSE results today; it has been an incredibly tough two years. We know how hard our wonderful students have worked and we are extremely proud of them." Over 70% of students achieved at least 5 GCSE passes, including English and Mathematics. There were some stand out individual performances. Andre Zacny in particular has achieved exceptional results, securing grade 9’s in all GCSE subjects! I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our incredibly hard-working staff for not only providing first class teaching throughout this period but also for creating a caring and supportive environment for our students. Many students will remain in our Sixth Form to study A-levels. Others will take a slightly different path by completing BTECs in Construction or even the brand-new T-level qualification, which comes with significant input from employers. This aligns with the UTC’s vision of preparing its students for the "world of work."
