Attendance

Success. It starts with showing up!

Attendance Information Graphic

Students with excellent attendance are more likely to achieve their full potential in school.

Punctuality is equally important. Arriving late disrupts learning and can negatively impact student progress.

Students arriving after 9:00am may be marked as absent for the morning session.

Attendance Expectations

  • Parents and carers must notify the school of all absences each day before 8:15am where possible.
  • Absences can be reported by telephone on 01902 872180 or by emailing [email protected] .
  • Medical or dental appointments should be arranged outside school hours wherever possible.
  • Leave of absence during term time will only be authorised in exceptional circumstances.
  • Arrivals after 8:30am are recorded as late (L code).
  • Arrivals after 9:00am are recorded as unauthorised absence (U code).
  • Parents can monitor attendance daily through MCAS.

Penalty Notices

In line with the national framework for penalty notices, unauthorised absence may result in legal action or financial penalties.

Ten unauthorised sessions within a rolling ten school week period may result in a Penalty Notice being issued.

Repeated unauthorised absences may result in increased fines, court proceedings, or alternative legal measures.
